FIDAE is not only an important Latin American market place for enterprises from the aeronautical industry; the dimensions land an sea are also represented, even though on a smaller scale. On the exhibition floor there can be found ship-building and repair companies as well as producers of armoured vehicles.
For example, URO Vehículos Especiales (UROVESA) is showcasing its high mobility tactical vehicle VAMTAC. The 4x4 military vehicle is delivered in different variants for different missions such as troop transport, cargo, ambulance or patrols, but bases on a single chassis. VAMTAC can be armoured and equipped with different kind of weapons from machine guns to anti-tank missiles. The vehicle is driven by a 188hp turbocharged diesel motor, has a maximum speed of 134kph and an operational range of up to 600 kilometers. Maximum payload: 1500-2000kg. Optionally the VAMTAC for example can be equipped with deep wading capacities of up to 1,5m and a central tire inflation system (CTIS).
ASMAR on the other hand presents its PUMAR series semi-rigid inflatable boats. The PUMAR MI420 COMANDO for example is especially designed for the needs of special forces, being able to carry ten persons or a payload of up to 1270 kilograms. According to its manufacturer it can can be operated from submarines and vessels as well as being used by paratroopers. MI420 COMANDO consists of highly resistant HYPALON/NEOPREN texture and has a 65hp motor.
