This week’s Defence Services Asia (DSA) Exhibition and Conference 2016 will be the biggest in its series so far. Announcing this yesterday, Defence Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein said the exhibition, first held in 1988, has evolved into one of the top five in the world. “DSA is now a premier platform for industry players to promote products, exchange ideas and technologies, forge partnerships and embark on strategic and synergistic collaborations,” he told reporters after inspecting preparations for the four-day event which opens at PWTC today.

Hishammuddin said despite the global economic challenges, DSA 2016 had received positive feedback and support from exhibitors and industry players. He said DSA 2016 will showcase 1,200 exhibitors and companies from 60 countries, with 34,000 trade visitors from 77 countries expected. “This will be the highest number of exhibitors to date,” he said, adding that 1,057 exhibitors from 59 countries took part during the previous DSA 2014. Hishammuddin said 29 groups will be participating, with new entries from Belarus, Bosnia, Canada, the Netherlands, Russia, UAE and Ukraine. “The largest foreign pavilion this year will be Turkey, which has more than 25 companies participating,’’ he added.
