MAN Truck and Bus (M) today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with AVP Engineering (M) to supply MAN 4x4 light and medium series trucks in military configuration to the Ministry of Defence (MOD).
The MoU was signed by MAN Truck and Bus (M) Managing Director Hartmut Müller and AVP Managing Director Tengku Datuk Ardy Esfandiari at the third day of DSA 2016.
AVP, a licenced and approved military and infantry vehicles' bodybuilder for the MOD, would undertake bodybuilding work on the MAN TGM 4x4 BB trucks based on military specification.
"As the backbone of an army transportation system, trucks are not just for hauling of weapons, ammunition and supplies but also to ensure faster and safer travel for army personnel over rugged terrain. This collaboration is also significant for us as it marks the supply of MAN's first complete-knock-down (CKD) assembled military trucks for the MOD," said both companies in a joint statement here Wednesday.
