During ILA 2016, Orbital ATK in the US Pavilion at booth #237, alongside its German teammate, Diehl Defence, highlights the Advanced Anti-Radiation Guided Missile (AARGM). AARGM, a supersonic, air-launched tactical missile system with the improved capability to perform Destruction of Enemy Air Defence missions. AARGM is an upgrade to the US Navy (USN) AGM-88 HARM system. AARGM is able to rapidly engage traditional and advanced land- and sea-based air defence threats, as well as non-radar, time-sensitive strike targets.
AARGM is a major USN and Italian Air Force international cooperative programme, with the USN as the executive agent. AARGM is currently deployed and supporting operational requirements for the USN and USMC. The missile is integrated into the weapons systems on the FA-18C/D HORNET, FA-18E/F Super HORNET and EA-18G GROWLER aircraft, and is anticipated to achieve IOC on the Italian Air Force’s TORNADO ECR aircraft in 2017.
Orbital ATK’s Defense Systems Group is an industry leader in providing innovative and affordable ammunition, precision and strike weapons, electronic warfare systems, and missile components across air-, sea-, and land-based systems.
