General Dynamics European Land Systems (GDELS), in partnership with Dutch companies, widen its wheeled vehicles product portfolio by adding super light tactical vehicles in a weight class less than 5t and internally transportable in medium helicopters. The new Super Light Tactical Vehicles named ATTV and QUAD are on display for the first time in their Special Forces variants at EUROSATORY.
“For years, General Dynamics European Land Systems has been known by its reputation for delivering proven and protected heavy, medium and light wheeled vehicles and now is responding to the need for advanced super light platforms with a new family of wheeled vehicles, internally transportable in medium helicopters, enough modular and versatile to span the full military and police mission spectrum, from daily in-country tasks to Air assault and special operations, plus law enforcement and border patrol duties”, said Thomas Kauffmann, Vice President of International Business and Services of General Dynamics European Land Systems.
The specialised technology of the new Super Light Tactical Vehicles ATTV and QUAD is based on the knowhow of the Paris-Dakar Rally Car Engineering, which maximises the mobility, agility and velocity over all-terrain, great payload, and rugged reliability. Highly adaptable and versatile, ATTV and QUAD can be internally transported in medium transport helicopters such as CH-47 or CH-53 without preparation to perform broad range of missions.
Capable to transport four soldiers plus the gunner, the ATTV Super Light Tactical Vehicle provides great cross-country performance and can be safely operated at very high-speed due to its performing diesel engine delivering highest level of power and torque through an outstanding racing suspension system. Its central-chassis tunnel stemming experience in rally-raid allows being fitted with versatile and multipurpose bodies. With a payload capacity of up to 2.25t, the ATTV has a range on hard level surface of 1,200 kilometres. Furthermore, its design allows a quickly integration of ballistic all-round and anti-mine kits to enhance protection for specific missions, whilst preserving at the same time a quick reconfiguration capability to fit enough soldier equipment, firepower, and provide extra space for communications and other equipment as smoke grenade. On the roof, it can incorporate a .50 machine gun fitted on a foldable ring-mount for immediate combat readiness after an air assault landing. The ATTV is fitted with a lot of COTS mobility components used in a way to get the highest level of logistic commonalty on all wheels, and facilitate maintenance & repair in the field by the crew. The conventional aspect of the ATTV has been designed to ease its insertion within the population.

With a GVW of 1,18 kg and a maximum payload of 650kg, the Diesel QUAD Super Light Tactical Vehicle is the perfect solution to situations that requires rapidly and covertly arrival at designated place, engage and escape at retaliatory speed. The QUAD can perform safely high velocity scouting and surveillance duties relying on its unique 4-wheel steering system. Its fully automatic transmission gives the ability to be operated it with one hand, whilst the other one is prepared to use the weapon fitted on the special foldable bracket. A reliable and silent diesel engine can be fed by all kind of fuels usually available in theatres. The QUAD could operate in places that are out of reach to most of the vehicles and be able to carry a full cargo on read/front platforms: Food, water, ammo, and even two stretchers.
The Quad Bike Bridge provides tactical bridging capability for quad bikes to span unprepared gaps up to 2.5m and has already proven its performance and reliability in theatre. We will also introduce you to the latest developments in dry and wet gap bridging equipment for today’s extended mission scenarios.
