Mikros Systems Corporation has received a U$3 million task and delivery order from the US Navy for production, support and further development of the ADEPT Distance Support Sensor Suite (ADSS) for the LITTORAL COMBAT SHIP (LCS). This award, which covers the first eight of the 28 ship class, is the first under a $48 million ceiling contract awarded earlier in September, which will cover multiple ship classes, including AEGIS, which Mikros already supports.
Using smart sensors, model-based prognostics and secure fault-tolerant networking, ADSS is a condition-based maintenance system for mission-critical complex distributed systems that connects to the vessel’s combat system sensors for continuous monitoring and upload to the shipborne network.
