Elektrobit (EB) presents its products at stand 6-D321, demonstrating the EB Tactical Wireless IP Network (TAC WIN) system, as well as the EB Tactical LTE Access Point solution (Long-Term Evolution, 4G) developed to accompany it and EB's other tactical communications products.
EB TAC WIN is a high-performance wireless backbone network solution offering broadband data transfer for mobile troops and also connecting them to landline networks. The system enables the flexible construction of link, access point and MANET (mobile ad hoc network) connections within one logical network through automatic configuration.
With the EB Tactical LTE Access Point solution ordinary terminal devices intended for civilian use can be utilized for military purposes. An LTE base station solution capable for use in the field and integrated in a small size together with EPC (Evolved Packet Core) software optimized for tactical use lie at the core of the EB Tactical LTE Access Point solution. These serve to establish a wireless broadband access point to cover data transfer and a call service within a specific area of the battlefield. The EB TAC WIN network offers a wireless, mobile and broadband backbone network for these access points through a flexible, cost-efficient and battle-ready solution. For very demanding operating conditions, EB also offers special terminal devices based on the EB's own product platforms.
EB also demonstrates the H3 Smart Phone reference device, based on the award-winning EB Specialized Device Platform, as well as the DMO (Direct Mode) communication support developed for the smart phone. The H3 Smart Phone reference device is customizable to different customer needs and it is enhanced with special features such as the advanced radio frequency solution supporting up to ten LTE radio frequency bands. The DMO communication support enables users to make voice calls without the support of a network infrastructure. This innovative solution means that communication will be possible in situations where the mobile phone network is not operational or available, such as during natural disasters or in isolated communications among the authorities. EB's DMO solution is based on standard GSM protocols, ensuring excellent voice transmission quality and a long battery life. It can be used for communication between two or more parties, similarly to various Push-to-Talk (PTT) applications.
