At Farnborough Air Show 2014, Rafael Advanced Defense Systems presents TOPLITE, an electro-optical (EO) system that provides advanced day/night all-weather observation and precision targeting in a compact, high-stability multi-sensor payload.
TOPLITE EOS systems support defence and homeland security applications ranging from missile targeting and guidance for precision-guided weapons to fire control and law enforcement observation. According to the company, TOPLITE EOS provides unmatched performance on aerial, marine and ground platforms, in fixed, hovering and mobile configurations, under the most demanding conditions.
TOPLITE EOS features day/night passive/active sensors (FLIR) and a high quality CCD camera for contact detection, recognition and identification. An eye-safe laser rangefinder confirms range to targets. Laser markers, additional sensors and advanced applications are optional add-ons.
The TOPLITE EOS turret is composed of a single sealed LRU with up to 4 sensors, electronics and a stabilisation subsystem. The control/monitoring unit has a multifunction display for turret/sensor control and image viewing.
Images can be duplicated to larger screens or transferred to other posts/users. TOPLITE EOS can be integrated and/or slaved to other control systems to receive/provide real-time data and guidance for C4I centres, combat management systems, EW, radar, navigation and weapons systems.
Hundreds of TOPLITE systems are currently operational on land, air and sea in Israel, the US, Australia and worldwide, serving as surveillance, detection and identification systems, and directing weapons and other key systems.
