On 2 September, Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI) celebrated the delivery of the last four F-16 aircraft to the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) under the Pakistan F-16 Modernisation Programme at TAI’s facilities in Ankara, Turkey.
The avionics and structural modernisation of 41 PAF F-16s, under the programme which was effected by a contract between TAI and the Pakistan Ministry of Defense (MoD) in 2009, was performed at TAI’s facilities. PAF personnel also have been qualified for the modernisation by having classroom and on-the-job training given by TAI and have participated to the work performed at TAI.
Being among the well-known companies in the world and in the field of F-16 modernization, TAI successfully realised the PAF F-16 Modernisation Programme and has proved its success in the world’s aerospace and defence arena. The quality and performance of the programme was highly appreciated by the PAF and has been valued as the precedent of success and cooperation between the PAF and TAI for future projects. This appraisal will also substantiate the collaboration between two countries for the future.
