Mistral Security of Israel is showing its equipment (DNS399 NAV, DNS300 SONAR & EDGE) for combat drivers. The DNS300 Sonar is a hand-held sonar solution offering coverage for all ranges. It is powered by BlueView 2D Multi-Beam sonars and coupled with advanced navigation capabilities. It provides accurate underwater documentation, navigation sensors, and data. Effectively detecting large and small underwater objects, it is suitable for EOD and Search and Rescue divers with low magnetic signatures. Simplifying the diving profile and overall maneuverability, the system has no external cables, with a single enclosure containing all sensors and batteries: sonar, compass, pressure gauge, and GPS. Weighing less than 7.5 kg (in air/200 gr. in water)., it has neutral buoyancy in water and has an operating depth of 50 m. Accurate target positioning for latitude and longitude are supplied, as well as full data recording and logging, with internal batteries providing 5 hours of operation (charging time 6 hrs.). Just before LAAD it was provided to a Latin American Navy to assist with underwater search and rescue missions.
The DNS 300 NAV navigation system will be provided to the police of Brazil to help maintain security during a major event (Olympic Games). The system – which weighs less than 6.8 kg (in air/200 gr. in water) and can be handheld or easily mounted on underwater vehicles – has an intuitive user interface and a variety of sensors. Providing a fully integrated autonomous navigation system with minimum exposure, the DNS300 NAV's single enclosure contains all sensors and batteries, DVL, compass, pressure gauge, and GPS with no external cables. It is highly accurate, providing precise location regardless of currents. Enhancing diver confidence while diving (max. depth 50 m), the NAV is user-friendly, includes a vivid display which is easy to read in all water conditions, and has a highly intuitive user interface. Providing diving preparation and debriefing, its internal batteries enable 8 hours of operation (charging time 6 hrs.).
According to Roey Bahat, General Manager, "We are pleased to be providing our underwater solutions to two leading Latin American countries. Many of these solutions have been successfully supplied to a number of other countries over the past few years. Our systems for divers are among the most advanced in the world in their fields, easy to use, lightweight, and especially cost-effective. The South American market is very important to us; we are already active in it – and are working to expand into new areas as well."
The third product is the EDGE, it is the first system designed to deliver full tactical underwater C4I capabilities for a full underwater situational awareness. EDGE enables network communications between several nodes, with or without line-of-sight, ensuring both high reliability and long data transfer. Combat divers, on-site commanders and land headquarters can benefit from the information in real time. Each node underwater and above receives the real-time location of all their nodes (blue-force-tracking) and each can send and receive immediate text updates (like a SMS). There are three versions available: EDGE Commander (operating on SDV or boat, coupled with on-board navigation system, sonar or other peripherals), EDGE Nav (for divers with a complete autonomous navigation solution) and EDGE Compact (in a very compact design (8.8 lbs., for multi missions). Operating times are between 7-8 hrs (no COM) or 3.5-4.5 hrs with COM (EDGE NAV 6 hrs). The effective communicatin range is up to 4 km.
Peryphon Development Ltd. from Israel is a leader in the design and manufacture of military and defense communications solutions for naval, aerial, and ground forces and launched the latest generation of its military tactical modem and FXS field phone at LAAD 2015. Dozens of units will soon be supplied to a leading defense integrator.
The FXS/MODEM Tactical Telephone is a universally usable field phone which is compact, low weight (3.2kg), waterproof, and protected from extreme weather conditions, vibrations and ballistic shocks (Mil-STD compliant). Operating even when the parties are separated by long distances, the phone uses military wires thru the modem. It can operate in FXS or Modem modes. In FXS mode, it works at a distance of up to 20 kilometers, with minimum loop current of 7mA. In Modem mode, it transmits full-duplex and data rates of up to 5.7 Mbps over 2 wires. The phone can operate with external devices connected to the audio connector using a H250/U handset – and speaker mode, using an audio U-183 connector. In addition, it can connect to a computer or headset.
According to Israel Aharoni, Peryphon Development's CEO, "We are pleased to launch our unique field telephone, with Internet – which is the most advanced of its kind in the world – at the LAAD exhibition. The phone can be quickly deployed in the field. It can transfer files at exceptionally high speed at long distances – and enables critical communications on the battlefield. We developed the phone for one of our main customers, who requested a quick and reliable solution with the highest existing communications capabilities. We will soon begin worldwide marketing of the phone."
So fare Peryphon was focused on the home market in Israel, but is now looking for export options. For the first time ever the company is showing is portfolio (military telephones and switchboards) in Latin America, with high hopes of exports in this growing market. They offer MOTS and customized products for end users and OEMs (e.g. the communication platform for IRON DOME). Let alone there are 15 different military telephones available, the latest one (ARGM 1087 MilPhone) with VoIP and internet. In March the latest product was in real operations for the first time. It can be used with cable communication, WiFi or LTE, and offers memory card applications, conference calls, etc. The configuration can be changed very easily with a Laptop and the end user itself. They also offer products for the navy or air force, always with an active noise reduction for the best communications between the crew members.
