I/ITSEC 2013: Saab Receives Training Order from the US Army

Saab Defense and Security USA, the US entity of global defence and security company Saab, has received an additional order from the US Army for radio systems that are used in data communications for live training. The order has a total value of $20 million  (approximately SEK 135 million).

The order comprises additional options of the Live Training Transformation Interim Range System (LT2-IRS). A contract awarded to Saab in April 2011 by the US Army Program Executive Office for Simulation, Training and Instrumentation (PEO STRI). The new options are valued at $20 million. Development and production will take place in Sweden and the US.

Under LT2-IRS, with the options, Saab is fielding communication network systems with more than 11,000 radios to enable soldiers to engage in instrumented force on force training at the Army home stations.
