For the past three months, representatives from MASA Group have been briefing senior figures from the military, the emergency services and training and simulation communities of nations around the world on the unique features, benefits and attributes of MASA SWORD and MASA LIFE.

MASA SWORD is a  complete solution for multi-level training of corps, brigade or battalion commanders ; a fully customisable simulation - ORBAT, equipment tables or doctrine models can easily be modified; a cutting-edge CGF - at several command level, both units and commanders dis-play opportunistic and doctrine-driven behaviours ; a light yet powerful simulation engine - thousands of units can be run on a single laptop, with a representation of all aspects of the battlefield: objects, phenomena such as natural disasters, as well as human factors; and a scalable and open architecture - use of industry standards for terrain, APIs and communication protocols. The company recently demonstrated new versions of its products and publicised customers' success stories at SIMTECT in Australia, 16-20 September, and WSTM in Brazil, 15-17 October. New functionalities impressed leading industry, academic and military stakeholders involved in simulation-based training.

We are under a profound transformation process and are glad to have picked SWORD,” declared Col. Paulo Eduardo R. Monteiro, Former Head of Simulation Division of the Comando de Operações Terrestres (COTER) of the Brazilian Army. “MASA's constructive simulation is technologically the most advanced today thanks to its Artificial-Intelligence capabilities.”

MASA's on-going collaboration with the emergency services sector was also promoted at the recent Congrès National des Sapeurs Pompiers (the annual Congress for the French Firefighters) held at Le Phare in Chambéry, France (10-12 October). The event brought together leading public safety professionals, expert industry bodies and government representatives - including French President François Hollande - to discuss current and future issues facing this vital market.

MASA's presence at recent events has enabled us to strengthen and develop a number of strategic relationships,” said MASA Group's CEO Juan Pablo Torres. “Over the past three years, based on our products unique capabilities, we have become internationally recognized as a leading software editor in the defence and public safety simulation markets. Events like these provide us with the opportunity to show stakeholders and partners how SWORD and LIFE combine the most advanced intelligent life technology with scalability, adaptability and ease of use.”

Defence and Security Asia marked the most recent opportunity for MASA to brief industry on its latest product developments. The company used the event to showcase SWORD's newest capabilities, including an innovative action time line application to control internal/external events and incidents, as well as the enhanced administrative features of 'SWORD in the Cloud'. Newly developed dynamic vector maps which present terrain information at various levels of detail were also demonstrated.

MASA is exhibiting at I/ITSEC at booth 2201.
