Revision showcases the "New UK Head Protection System:" The COBRA PLUS Head Protection System at booth #S9-430, alongside SAWFLY and WOLFSPIDER Ballistic Eyewear and Nerv Centr Mobile Power Systems.

In February 2014, Revision expanded its capabilities by adding Energy Storage and Power Management to its roster of integrated optics and armour technologies. Advanced, electronic battlefield equipment comes with the challenge of sustaining power, ideally without the weight, complexity and waste that numerous types of batteries present for troops. Similarly, the efficient use of power, scalability, and modularity can be extended beyond individual soldier use providing new larger format power capabilities for vehicles, UAV’s, submersibles and other platforms where maximum power with minimum signature is required.

The opportunity for an integrated energy system that provides flexible storage and power management that can be easily adapted to a wide range of mission scenarios is extensive,” said Jonathan Blanshay, CEO of Revision. “We are pleased to add power management – the ability to store, deliver, harvest, and share energy to our roster of technologies in support of fully integrating electronic equipment while lessening the battery burden on soldiers.”

After acquiring this technology and engineering talent last February, we are excited to be debuting the first two Nerv CENTR rechargeable products that will power many of the electronic devices used by soldiers in theatre and remove the need for continual replacement and disposal of non-reusable batteries,” Richard Coomber, Vice President, Integrated Systems explained. “The ability of these products to indicate remaining system energy and to be recharged easily not only allows peace of mind in knowing that the needed power is available, but also lessens the need to carry multiple replacement batteries. The SharePack System, in particular, offers an innovative energy storage solution by integrating flexible and scalable power provision and management capabilities into a conformal man-worn unit.”

The intelligently designed SHAREPACK can store, deliver, harvest and share power. Offering flexibility, upgradable software, the system can be adapted to charge or provide power to a broad range of electronic devices and can be recharged quickly by equipment such as a solar blanket, vehicle outputs or energy harvested from the operational environment. Combining multiple SHAREPACKS creates a larger energy reserve to support power-hungry ground equipment. The multi-functional LCD display provides a comprehensive set of information including system wide real-time data on the available power.

The Nerv CENTR SOLOPACK is a low-profile, rechargeable lithium ion battery that packs the energy needed for a 12-hour mission. Weighing approximately a pound, the battery is small enough to fit into a magazine pouch or its own compatible carrying case. The rugged SOLOPACK is designed to plug-and-play, offering a high power density to power currently fielded equipment while reducing the weight burden of carrying spare batteries.
The newest initiative is for Revision Power and Electronics is to provide vehicular silent watch power management solutions.
